The Ghost at
Blackwood Station

A man arrives dead at a station that officially never saw him. Detective Adrian Vale finds a ledger with seven names—and one that should not exist.

Read the synopsis

When a midnight train appears at Blackwood Station, the evidence points to a man who died eleven years earlier. Adrian Vale follows seven names through altered records, a locked-room death and a station that keeps its own secrets. What begins as a murder investigation becomes a question of who controls the past—and why Adrian’s name is written last.

Evidence note: keep the original page, the dispatch log and the witness account separate until their timestamps are independently verified.

The Memory Experiment

The final file names Adrian as the primary subject. To expose the truth, he must decide which memories can be trusted—and what proof is worth preserving.

Read the synopsis

After the Lazarus operation is exposed, Adrian follows a trail into the Memory Archive, where recollections can be edited, copied or planted. Every witness offers a different past, and Adrian’s own memories become the most contested evidence of all. To stop the final experiment, the team must reveal how the ledger was created without allowing its makers to define the truth one last time. A final recording leaves one question unanswered: if a memory can be rewritten, who gets to say who you are?

Evidence note: the final investigation asks who controls the record when memory, identity and documentary proof can all be manipulated.

The Platform After Midnight

Rain moved across the station windows in thin silver lines. Adrian Vale stood beneath the clock and watched its hands hold at 11:47. The ledger in his coat felt heavier than paper should. Somewhere beyond the platform doors, a ticket tore once—cleanly, deliberately—and the sound stopped before the echo could return.

Blackwood Station. Twenty years ago, a man appeared at Blackwood Station. 11:47 PM. At exactly 11:47 PM, the clock stopped. The woman in black. Some witnesses swear they saw her; others deny she existed. Adrian Vale has lost his memories. His name is in the ledger. The locked room: a judge is found dead inside a locked room. A dead man: the official records say he died eleven years ago. Seven names. One impossible question. Project Lazarus: false identities, altered memories, a truth buried for years. She returns: every time Adrian gets closer, the woman returns. Nothing is what it seems. A ghost story, or a crime engineered by the living? The ledger: every clue opens another door, every answer hides a lie. The last train. At 11:47, the past comes back. The Ghost Ledger, Part I: The Ghost at Blackwood Station. A novel by YY. Some secrets refuse to stay buried.

The case was closed. But Blackwood was only the beginning. 11:47 PM. The clock stopped; the past did not. A body in a sealed archive. Eleven years, no record of entry. Seven circles: six complete, one crossed out. Project Lazarus: an experiment built to erase identity. The dead had new names; the living had new memories. Someone is lying, and they are inside the investigation. Adrian Vale has a file, signed in his own handwriting. Two histories, one body: which version of the past is real? The final file is dated tomorrow, and the voice on it is his. The Ghost Ledger, Part II: The Lazarus Protocol. The past is not what you remember. Next case: Part III, The Memory Experiment. A novel by YY.

People inside the files

Key characters

Each character holds a different piece of the truth—and each has a reason to doubt the record. Profiles stay spoiler-light: nobody is labelled guilty, trustworthy or secretly aligned.

AV
THE INVESTIGATOR

Adrian Vale

A detective with a fractured past, drawn into a case that may have been written around him.

Open dossier note

Adrian prioritizes verifiable records but must confront the possibility that some evidence about him has been curated by someone else.

EC
THE PARTNER

Emily Carter

A careful investigator who trusts evidence—but knows evidence can be planted.

Open dossier note

Emily’s strength is procedural: she separates what a witness believes from what a record can independently confirm.

LR
THE SCIENTIST

Dr. Leena Rao

A neuroscientist who can explain the mechanics of memory without explaining who controlled them.

Open dossier note

Leena is careful not to confuse a plausible scientific mechanism with proof that a particular event occurred.

JM
THE ANALYST

Jonah Mercer

A systems expert whose old access to Lazarus makes him both useful and difficult to trust.

Open dossier note

Jonah understands logs, permissions and the quiet ways a system can be changed without leaving an obvious trace.

EV
THE WITNESS

Elise Voss

A witness who knows that a correct memory is not always the same as a provable fact.

Open dossier note

Elise’s testimony is valuable but incomplete; the team must still verify dates, provenance and the chain of custody.

About the author

A story about memory, identity and proof

The Ghost Ledger combines a gothic station mystery with a techno-psychological thriller. Its world moves from rain-soaked platforms and lost records to laboratories where memory itself becomes evidence. The concept art on this site shows the intended look of the graphic-novel editions, and the interactive case file lets you investigate without meeting a single spoiler.

YY writes mysteries about the records we keep and the ones that keep us. A full biography and author portrait will appear here before the trilogy’s release.
